IsGood Woodworks is a full service shop offering comprehensive consultation, design, fabrication, and installation of cabinets, furniture, architectural millwork, and art objects. Our primary media are wood and wood veneered sheet goods. We also work in plastic laminates, Lucite fabrication, minor metalwork, plastic castings, and others materials.

We excel at problem-solving in-house and orchestrating trades people out-of-house to realize whatever you envision. Our consultations and subsequent engineering drawings assure punctual, accurate, and high quality work by our subcontractors.

Design

Our design methods include hand sketches and 3D computer modeling, which can be reviewed by our clients on screen, as a video walk through, and as printed 3D images. The modeling is followed by traditional 2D dimensioned plans.

Our imagery helps to include all interested parties, and to produce solid decisions as a result of the clarity provided. This in turn is very helpful in allowing the fabrication process to proceed without interruption or expensive changes while building or making final preparations to build.

Fabrication

As a true custom woodworking shop and fine furniture maker, what we build is, to a great extent, up to you. The majority of our production is custom cabinets. We make free standing furniture and one of a kind lighting. We do architectural millwork such as entry systems, interior doors, benches, wainscoting, paneled walls, and fireplace surrounds. We often work with designs that are reflective of the building’s interior trim and may include furniture style detailing. We are adventurous with new types of product to build, and we will take on technically difficult sub projects that involve other trades, as long as it is related to our work at hand.

At IsGood WoodWorks, we use traditional joinery in our products, including dovetail drawers , dowels in cope and stick doors, and true mortise and tennon for large solid wood parts. We do hand carving, inlay work, custom veneering, and have developed our own translucent wood product. See the portfolio section for numerous examples of bent wood products.

Installation

We are happy to install our own products, and even to install products from other trades that are a part of what we are building, when this is cost effective. We will travel for installation, provided that our travel time and expense is covered. From our shop in Seattle WA, custom cabinets and installation can easily be arranged. When a separate crew is hired to install, we can provide layout assistance on site, or even a single individual to help with install and provide information.
